My approach

Energetic
Training should keep people engaged and involved. Sessions are fast-paced, varied and designed to maintain momentum and energy. There is a neat balance between theory, exercises and class interaction.

Interactive
People learn best by doing. Training shouldn’t be a lecture, so you’ll be on your feet, working in teams and getting hands-on practical experience. You learn best when you get a chance to do it yourself.

Collaborative
Design is a team sport. As well as learning from me, you will get time to collaborate and interact with other delegates on the course.

Experienced
I won’t be simply regurgitating what the theory book says. While the entire course is grounded in theory, I have 30+ years of experience at the coalface delivering this work across industries, which I bring to the learning.

Practical
The focus is on skills and techniques you can apply straight away. You’ll leave with tools, approaches and ways of thinking you can use immediately in real projects and day-to-day work.

Flexible
You and your team are busy, so I can build the training around you. I can deliver in 1-, 2- or 3-day formats and in a rhythm which suits you (for example days-in-a-row, or half days each week) and in-class or virtually.

Organiser and host, The DM Sessions
Gareth has been thinking about UX, CX and design performance long before they were mainstream topics. I have heard him speak, read his writing and witnessed his consulting efforts over the span of two decades. His consulting is strategic, relevant and accessible and his writing and speaking are punchy, lucid and humorous. If you want to connect your company’s strategic objectives to its design and innovation processes, hire Gareth to help!
